The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China to protect the Chinese states and empires against the raids and invasions of the various nomadic groups of the Eurasian Steppe.

We spent our first day ever in China to walk up the steps of the Great Wall! Walking for long distance has always been a challenge for me so I did not expect the walk to be an easy task. It turned out to be a very tired walk for me. There are some parts of the climb that were highly steep, almost to a point where I felt that it was almost perpendicular.

However, once we reached the high point of the Great Wall, we were able to observe such an amazing view from above. I can see why Great Wall is one of the new 7 wonders of the world.
